Chingusai – Korean Gay Men’s Human Rights Group
Chingusai is one of the oldest LGBTQ+ rights organizations in South Korea. Rooted in the gay community, it has worked to advance LGBTQ+ rights and strengthen community building since its founding. What began as a small gathering in 1994 has grown into a grassroots organization that has consistently amplified the lives and voices of LGBTQ+ people for more than three decades.
Through cultural, educational, counseling, and community-based initiatives, Chingusai provides spaces and programs where LGBTQ+ individuals can connect, build relationships, and gather safely. The organization also continues to address challenges affecting the community, including HIV, mental health, discrimination, and social isolation, while working to protect the dignity and well-being of LGBTQ+ people in their everyday lives.
Grounded in the strength and solidarity of the LGBTQ+ community, Chingusai expands dialogue with wider society and works to create opportunities for meaningful social change.
